International Women’s Day – Be Heard!
Montreal, March 8, 2010 - March 8th is International Women's Day, and this year as a part of our continuing effort to promote an open dialogue on the subject of equity among people and the sexes, Canada World Youth wants women and men to lend their voice to the conversation.
Canada World Youth has added a new page to its website and is asking our alumni, partners and friends to include their voice in the discussion by sending a short video or writing a brief comment answering one or all of these questions:
- 1. In your opinion, what has been the most important advancement for women's rights?
-
- 2. What is your dream for women in the future?
3. Why is International Women's Day important?
All responses will be posted the CWY web page dedicated to International Women's Day.
International Women's Day is also a great opportunity to reflect on what has been done and remains to be done to ensure equality between women and men and the creation of a true culture of peace. We invite you to read the message from our President and chief executive officer, Iris Almeida-Côté.
It is important to remember that even though today we focus on the ongoing struggle for equity of the sexes, this effort is part of a larger endeavour to promote a culture of peace for all humanity.
