Canada World Youth supports 5 Days for the Homeless

Canada World Youth (CWY) will show its support to local youth during 5 Days for the Homeless, a national campaign designed to raise funds and awareness for homelessness.

On March 14th, 2010, CWY will sponsor a guest sleeper to sleep outside for one night with the 5 Days for the Homeless Concordia University team. The CWY guest sleeper, Noah Redler, communications coordinator, will join the 5 Days team and live on the street for 1 night, unable to eat or drink anything that has not been donated.

Additionally, Canada World Youth will make a $500 donation directly to Dans La Rue, the Montreal organization that will be the recipient of all donations obtained during the campaign.

"Canada World Youth encourages youth volunteerism and involvement in community affairs and worthy social causes. Our educational programs prepare young leaders to act locally and think globally", said Iris Almeida-Côté, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada World Youth. "We are proud to be associated with the 5 Days for the Homeless campaign, because it raises awareness about issues confronting disadvantaged youth and looks for sustainable solutions for youth homelessness."
