    Announcing the winners of the Jacques Hébert Global Citizenship Awards!

    Sarah Switzer, of Comox, British Columbia, and Saaya Tema Karmushu, of Nanyuki, Kenya, are the winners of the first Jacques Hébert Global Citizenship Awards. Sarah participated in the 2003-2004 Ontario/Tanzania program, and Saaya Tema participated in both the 2004-2005 Tanzania program and the 2005-2006 Kenya/Ontario program.

    CWY stands up to make poverty history

    On October 17th, more than 16,000 Canada World Youth participants, past participants, employees, and supporters from communities across the country and overseas stood up for one minute as part of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. They joined forces with millions of people worldwide taking part in the United Nations Millennium Campaign to call for a better, more just world.

    As a tribute to its founder Jacques Hébert, Canada World Youth will present the inaugural Jacques Hébert Global Citizenship Awards on December 8th, 2008. The prizes will be awarded during a commemorative event organized in Montreal with the Trudeau Foundation for the first anniversary of the passing of Mr. Hébert.
