New!
Environmental and health care exchange projects

We are now offering specialized environmental and health-care projects where teams of young volunteers work on projects projects projects developed with partners of Canada World Youth in Canada and overseas. Here are just a couple of examples:

  • Environment: participate in tree-planting and ecotourism projects in Alberta and Bolivia
  • Health care: develop and hold workshops raising awareness of basic health care in New Brunswick and Ghana

Pair up with a volunteer from the exchange country and live with host families

Throughout the entire program, you will be paired with a young volunteer from the exchange country. Together, you will live with the same host families in Canada and the overseas country and learn to communicate in another language and adapt to a different life style.

* Your own family won't be asked to host participants; Canada World Youth will select host families from the Canadian community where you will live for three months.

Group volunteer activities

With your team, you will participate in projects and workshops to learn more about various important issues: international development, the environment, intercultural communication, globalization, and more. For example, you might:

  • Organize a solidarity march with community residents calling for the end of poverty around the world
  • Invite an expert to speak about the community's recycling and composting efforts
  • Share with a friend Share
