This is a unique opportunity for you!

  • The attestation will be provided free of charge
  • You will earn a diploma acknowledging your international experience - a great addition to your CV!
  • You will have concrete evidence of what you learned during the program
  • The main difference from the regular program: throughout the project, you will spend time building a portfolio

Objectives

  • Promote the acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values necessary for active participation in development
  • Maximize experiential learning in terms of the observation, understanding, and analysis of community phenomena at the local and international levels
  • Establish partnerships with individuals, groups, and communities based on integrity and respect for differences
  • Develop attitudes and adopt behaviours of respect and openness to other cultures
  • Acquire the skills necessary for personal and professional development

The following seven skills will be assessed via a portfolio to be submitted at the end of the project:

  • Position yourself as a learner within the CWY program
  • Understand the dynamics of a local community
  • Apply communication skills
  • Apply the skills necessary for leading groups and working with a team
  • Integrate a community project
  • Develop analytic skills
  • Communicate fairly easily in English OR apply basic communication concepts in standard French OR communicate in a limited way in a third modern language

Registration

Two options are available to you:

  • Every year, the participants in some teams are automatically registered in this program. You will be informed of this at the appropriate time.
  • If you live in Quebec, you may register for the attestation as an independent participant, whatever project you have been chosen for. Marie-Victorin College will contact all Quebec participants to register those who are interested in earning this attestation.
